What is L4D2Center?
l4d2center.com is a website for playing ranked moderated L4D2 Versus games. You have your personal rating (mmr), which affects your placement in games.
Who can play?
You need to have at least 40 hours of L4D2 playtime, and 40 Versus games played on your account to be able to register.
Basic Versus gameplay knowledge is required, like:
- Knowing how to spawn/respawn and attack with each Infected class
- Knowing the path to saferoom on every official L4D2 map
- Knowing basic cooperation strategies, such as staying with your team, attacking together, etc
FamilySharing accounts are not allowed
How to play?
1. Log in on the website
2. Validate your profile
3. Accept rules
4. Install our anticheat
5. Press "Find a game" button
6. When Ready Up pops, press "Ready"
7. Wait for the server IP to appear
8. Connect
9. Type !ready in chat
10. Play
The site will emit sound as soon as the queue is ready, to attract your attention. Make sure the volume slider isn’t at zero value.
Press !ready during game even if your teammates are not ready.
Keep playing until you are automatically kicked from the server at the end of the game.
You can close the browser tab after the server IP appeared on the page.
How does the mmr system work?
If you win a game your mmr value is increased, if you lose a game your mmr value is reduced.
The more scores you win in game, the bigger the mmr gain will be.
There is a second parameter: mmr stability. The more games you play, the more stable your mmr is.
You need to play 11 games to get a rank.
What if someone causes trouble?
We suggest that you use Steam Game Recording (or another recording program) at all times, then clip and report players who cause trouble.
What if I have technical issues with the gameservers or with the anticheat?
This is the guide for gameservers, and this is for the anticheat.
You can ask for help in the comments (english only) if the provided solution doesn't work for you.
Why is everyone speaking Spanish, and how can I play with English-speaking players?
You can’t play only with English-speaking players, because most Left 4 Dead 2 and L4D2Center players are from Latin America, and the number of players from other regions is too small to create a sustainable pool.
However, there are still some English-speaking players on the site. To improve your experience, we recommend finding English-speaking friends during your games on L4D2Center or elsewhere, and playing together in a party.
Also, keep in mind that every player is required to understand basic English tactical calls — that’s part of the site rules.
